How do I change the name of a course section?
You can change the name of a section by editing your course Settings in Canvas.
Note: Sections may be added by your institution's student information system (SIS). If a section in your course includes an SIS ID, you may not have permission to change the section name.
1. Open Settings
In Course Navigation, click the Settings link.
2. Open Sections
Click the Sections tab.
3. Edit Section
Locate the section and click the Edit icon.
4. Change Section Name
To change the section name, enter a new name the text box.
To save the changes, press the Return key (on a MAC keyboard ) or the Enter (on a PC keyboard).
5. View Sections
You can view the updated course sections in the same window.
